Technology Overview
It is well recognized that metabolic processes in many types of cancer cells are quite distinct from that of normal cells. The underlying biological features, including regulation of metabolic processes, production and management of metabolic byproducts, signal transduction and genotypic-phenotypic changes account for the unique metabolic properties of cancer. Because many different cancer types share these features, they are also attractive targets for the development of novel, broadly effective and highly selective anticancer drugs.
Cornerstone is developing technologies and products that target these cancer-specific metabolic aberrations, with the goal of safer and more effective treatment of many different cancer types.
