Cornerstone Pharmaceuticals is working to translate the company’s scientific insights on cancer metabolism into clinical interventions as quickly, safely and effectively as possible. Cornerstone’s unique approach offers significant hope for transforming cancer treatment, and its scientists and researchers are working hard to ensure that its promise is one day fully realized.
It is well recognized that metabolic processes in many, if not all, types of cancer cells are quite distinct from that of normal cells. The underlying biological features, including regulation of metabolic processes; production and management of metabolic byproducts; and signal transduction and genotypic-phenotypic changes, account for the unique metabolic properties of cancer. Because distinct cancer types share these features, they are also attractive targets for the development of novel, broadly effective and highly selective anticancer therapies.
Cornerstone is developing technologies and products that target or leverage these cancer-specific metabolic aberrations, with the goal of safer and more effective treatment of many types of cancer.
