Tim Sullivan joined Cornerstone Pharmaceuticals in his corporate development role after having served as a financial and strategic advisor to the company for five years prior to leading Cornerstone’s most recent financing. As co-founder and managing director of Althea Partners, LLC, a financial and strategic advisory firm, Tim led Cornerstone’s $6.2 million private equity financing that closed in December 2009.

Tim has more than 10 years of experience in financing biopharmaceutical companies and advising them on strategic transactions, including licensing, mergers and acquisitions. In the past decade, he has participated in or led nearly 40 financings totaling more than $8 billion in capital for numerous biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies such as Immunex, Inc., Shire Pharmaceuticals, and Monsanto, and has been an advisor on a number of M&A and licensing transactions totaling more than $4 billion.

In his current role, he is responsible for evaluating and executing financial and strategic objectives for Cornerstone as well as overseeing investor relations, public relations and numerous additional communications functions.

Prior to founding Althea Partners, Tim served as senior vice president for Life Sciences Investment Banking at Jefferies & Co., Inc., where he managed a team of bankers to source and execute financing and M&A transactions, performed myriad financial analyses, crafted investor presentations, developed group business plans and assisted in preparation of SEC statements. Tim has also worked as a senior executive in the healthcare arena for several investment banking and consulting groups, including Bear, Stearns & Co., Inc., and Deloitte Consulting.

Tim holds an MBA from Columbia Business School and a BA, with a concentration in Biology, from Harvard University.
